The University of California’s Center for Tobacco
Control Research and Education studied the effect of tobacco company contributions—
and they determined that State Assemblyman Jerome Horton had the
highest pro-tobacco industry rating of any Democratic Assemblymember. They
also reported that Horton received $61,000—more than any other Democrat.
